This day tour from Cusco begins with a stop at the Taray Viewpoint, which offers breathtaking views of the majestic Andes Mountains and the Sacred Valley. Next we head to the town of Pisac where we will visit the famous local market. In Pisac we will explore the archaeological site, admiring the impressive agricultural terraces, Inca cemeteries and imposing royal buildings. We then head to Urubamba for a hearty buffet lunch at a restaurant. After refueling, we continue our journey to Ollantaytambo, a large fortress built by the Incas to protect the entrance to Machu Picchu from possible invasions. On our way back to Cuzco, we will stop in the picturesque village of Chinchero, where we can admire the remains of the ancient royal estate of Tupac Inca Yupanqui. We will also visit a local workshop to discover the fascinating process of dyeing alpaca wool using plants native to the area.
