This more economical option allows you to reach the Inca city of Machu Picchu by bus.

• You will travel from Cusco to Hidroeléctrica in the district of Machu Picchu. From there you will hike about 2 and a half hours to the village of Machu Picchu (also known as Aguas Calientes). The route is mostly flat, following the railroad line, with few inclines.

1st day

Cusco - Santa Teresa - Hidroelectric

• 06:45 am. Pick up from your hotel or lodge.
• 13:00 hrs. Lunch is served.
• 15:30 hours. Arrive at the hydroelectric plant for the start of the hike.
• Hiking time: 2 ½ hours. (12 km., flat)
• Accommodation at the hostel in Aguas Calientes.
• 19:00 Dinner and briefing with the guide (itinerary and recommendations for day 2). 

2nd day

Machu Picchu - Hydroelectric power plant - Cusco

• 04:00 am. Beginning of the trek to the Inca city of Machu Picchu.
• 06:00 am. Concentration of the group to start the tour in Machu Picchu.
• Guided tour for about 2 hours. 
• 11:30 am. Start of the descent to the hydroelectric station.
• 14:30 pm. Concentration in Hydroelectric for the return to Cusco.
• 21:30 hours. Approximate arrival to the city of Cusco (Plaza San Francisco).

• Departure Detail: Pickup service for passengers from downtown areas.

  • If the client is staying at an Airbnb, the meeting point will be Plaza Regocijo.

• Tripods are not allowed in the historic site.
• Professional cameras are not permitted.
• Permits for professional cameras are obtained in advance from the Ministry of Culture, so avoid bringing a professional-looking camera.
• Only small backpacks are allowed in Machupicchu.
• Large backpacks can be left at the lodge in Aguas Calientes.
• Canes are not allowed unless the person needs them.
• Only small folding umbrellas are allowed, so avoid carrying large umbrellas with pointed tips.
