• Between 4:30 and 5:00 AM, the minivan will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco. After picking up all passengers, you will start a journey of approximately an hour and a half south of Cusco to the restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast.

• After breakfast, you will continue in the minivan for about half an hour to the start of the hike. You will hike for about an hour and a half, enjoying beautiful landscapes, South American camelids, and views of snow-capped mountains like Ausangate (the highest in Cusco at 6,385 meters above sea level) and others, until you reach the beautiful Rainbow Mountain of Vinicunca.

• At Vinicunca, the guide will meet the group and explain details about Rainbow Mountain. You will then have ample time to take photos and enjoy the scenery.

The adventure continues, and you have three options for your return:

• Return by the same ascending route: Return along the path you initially took.

• Return via the Red Valley viewpoint: Opting for this route has been praised by many travelers, who highlight the impressive views and more enriching experience it offers.

• Return through the Red Valley (Not included):

• Another alternative is available, though it’s important to note that this option may incur additional costs.

• Unfortunately, it is not possible to visit Vinicunca in a wheelchair. This is due to the fact that the unpaved roads are very steep in certain parts, making it impossible to travel on wheels.

• Older adults can visit the 7 Colores Mountain if they are in good physical shape. Older adults who are not used to hiking should consult their doctor.

• How much is the entrance fee to the 7 Colors Mountain? The entrance fee to Vinicunca for Peruvians is 15 soles ($4). Foreigners pay 25 soles ($7). The tickets have a symbolic price for the maintenance of the tourist attraction.

• How to rent a horse while visiting Vinicunca Mountain? In the community of Phulawasipata, the villagers rent their horses for about 100 soles ($30). This is a one-way service. The only way to rent a horse is to negotiate directly with the villagers. There is no way to reserve a horse on the Internet.

• How to avoid altitude sickness on the 7 Colors Mountain? Altitude sickness or soroche is a natural discomfort that people suffer when visiting high altitude regions. The main symptoms are headache and tiredness.
